I was looking forward to writing the
iBreath alcohol breathalyzer
review because the iBreath is such an interesting little device!
The iBreath is a very small alcohol breathalyzer that plugs into your iPod
or iPhone. It's a good looking device and will just slip into your pocket
along with your iPhone or iPod and so is very portable. Ideal for a night
out. The device runs off your iPhone or iPod batteries. The iBreath is available
for around $80.
The iBreath alcohol breathalyzer also doubles up as an FM transmitter which
allows you to listen to your iPod or iPhone by tuning a radio to a specific
frequency. A lot of people buy FM transmitters for their iPod or iPhone
so this is a useful additional feature of the iBreath. Another neat feature
is the ability to listen to music or charge your iPod or iPhone without
having to remove the alcohol breathalyzer.
The iBreath alcohol breathalyzer measures blood alcohol content in the range
of 0.0 - 0.12, which is quite a low upper limit compared to other breathalyzers
on the market. To use the iBreath you need to plug it in to your iPod or
iPhone, fold out the mouthpiece and exhale into it for five seconds. The
iBreath displays the results after about 2 seconds on its own inbuilt LCD
display. There's a timer function which you can use to remind you to test
yourself again later.
Interestingly, the
iBreath alcohol breathalyzer only uses
the iPod or iPhone for its battery power! The iBreath also comes with a
12V car power supply which enables you to use it without an iPod or iPhone.
