The AlcoHawk Slim is a
cheap blood alcohol breathalyzer
made by Q3 Innovations. Its accuracy has been reported to be very good,
its very easy to use and since it only costs $80 it must be one of the best
entry level breathalyzers around.
The AlcoHawk Slim has a sleek, compact design. Its a good looking unit and
is small enough to fit in your bag or at a push, in your pocket. The mouthpiece
folds down to make carrying this personal alcohol breathalyzer easy. There
are disposable covers to fit over the mouthpiece to keep everything clean
and sterile, although only three are supplied with the unit. To operate
the breathalyzer you press a button, wait for the digital readout to count
down to zero, then blow into the mouthpiece for 5 seconds. After a short
wait your blood alcohol level is displayed to you.
The AlcoHawk Slim has a number of sensors to help ensure an accurate BAC
reading. An airflow sensor makes sure you continuously blow for the full
5 seconds in order to get a reading using deep lung air which is vital for
accurate blood alcohol measurement. A sample concentration sensor checks
that a constant alcohol concentration is being registered throughout the
time that the sample is being given. The final technology assisting in the
accuracy of this BAC breathalyzer is something Q3 Innovations have named
Sensor Recognition Technology. It is designed to detect certain abnormal
sensor conditions to help prevent false readings.
The
AlcoHawk Slim blood alcohol breathalyzer performs very
well considering its budget price and semiconductor sensor. Its a highly
recommended product and excellent value for money.
